Very often MODX site gets spammed via MODX extras for Evolution (eform) & Revolution (formit). It's possible to set some fields that spammer with their spam softaware will not be able to send any spam to admin, site members. That's rather cheaper then having anti-spam software on your PC and more flexible as it stops spam on the server rather then on your hard drive.
