Very often when a new site is being developed on localhost someone gets stuck with something.
The only way to help in this situation is too remote and check whats wrong with the settings, code, .. etc.
For win systems better and narive is rdesctop as a server and rdesctop client available for some platforms: linux (grdesctop for ubuntu, rdesctop for centos, rdesctop for win) ..
A not standart situation is on the screenshot: had to use grdesctop to connect to one win powered pc then from that pc to another win powered pc where the testing server was installed
The server called VNC also works fine. I tested different clients for this server - some work really ok on linux,win for servers launched in win, mac.
