Questions about schema.org for MODX CMS from phpcmsmodx.info users
I have a couple of questions about schema.org:
1) How will we convert the existing HTML to schema.org-structured HTML? Will we need to read all text and manually add itemscopes and itemprops?
2) Can this be added in MODX in a way so that we can add such things directly in MODX when writing text, without knowing or going into the HTML code? Maybe there is a MODX module or something which allows this?
3) How can this work in a multi-language setting?
Hi,
thanks for considering structured data.
As for the "2) Can this be added in MODX in a way so that we can add such things directly in MODX when writing text, without knowing or going into the HTML code? Maybe there is a MODX module or something which allows this?"
- No for MODX, but as far as I know there is something for Wp and it can be suggested something if you need.
Also, "3) How can this work in a multi-language setting?" not sure what setting you refer, sorry. If you mean that it can affect EN and DE content (of 2 corresponding MODX REVO contexts like WEB and DE) then you are right, structuring only EN content will affect positively only on EN content.
Finally, "1) How will we convert the existing HTML to schema.org-structured HTML?"
- It's code rebuilding for templates and chunks.
And, "Will we need to read all text and manually add itemscopes and itemprops?"
- Looks like if your site has some address data in content (MODX *CONTENT field) either the schema should be added to content field in the MODX rich text editor (TINY editor for example) or content should be reorganised into parts of shema values, say MODX TV input for phone, MODX TV for input of address for example.
